"Empire" Season 2 Episode 9 will reportedly see Cookie knowing more about her sister. Laz is also falling more and more for Cookie but he might be exposed so things will be complicated between them.
According to International Business Times, Cookie Lyon's sister was introduced in "Empire" Season 2 Episode 8 entitled "My Bad Parts." Her name is Candace and she will be known better in Episode 9. The two will reportedly be putting their differences aside as they have to find their younger sister Carol, who has been missing.
In an interview with Vivica A. Fox, she talked about her character noting that Candace is very different from Cookie. She shared, "We've definitely lost our sisterly connection but the crisis with Carol happens and we have to go looking for Carol and that's why we have to deal with each other." She also revealed that an old friend of Cookie named Pepper, played by Rosie O'Donnell, will be helping them find Carole. Cookie will probably discover Carole's secret which Candace knows about in "Empire" Season 2 Episode 9 entitled "Sinned Against."
Design & Trend also shared that the official synopsis for episode 9 says: "Back at Empire, Jamal and critically acclaimed pop star Skye Summers begin collaborating and soon share a deep connection. Meanwhile, Laz has truly fallen for Cookie, but things get complicated when she finds out the truth about him in the all-new 'Sinned Against.'"
