‘Deus Ex: Mankind Divided’ Updates: Developers Address Delay

By

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, developed by Square Enix and Eidos Montreal was initially scheduled for release on February 23, 2016. However, a further announcement was made, moving the release date to August 23, 2016, giving the fans an additional 6-month waiting time.

In a statement of Eidos Montreal Studio Head David Anfossi, he reiterated that the developers' aim is to offer Deus Ex: Mankind Divided as a worthy successor to Human Revolution and to improve the game in every possible way. Gematsu reports that the developers are aware that expectations to the game are extremely high, and they wanted not only to meet those expectations, but to exceed them as well. Anfossi further explained that while playing through the full game, they noticed that the game will require more post-production time for tuning, iterations, and refinement to meet their high standards.

Accordingly, the developers also stated in a Twitter post that the game is a huge project, and with such they do not compromise on quality, Gamespot reports. Running on the game's proprietary Dan Engine, the game is set on 2029, focusing on the continuation of Adam Jensen's story from the Human Revolution. With the game's delay, the developers asked the fans to be more patient while thanking them for their support to the Deus Ex franchise. They also promised that they are determined to deliver the best game as they should be. The release date is not the only major change made by the developers as Square Enix also pulled out its "Augment Your Pre-Order" campaign after receiving lots of negative fan feedbacks.

Delays are always disappointing, as commented by Stuff. However, the site said that nothing is worse than releasing a 'botched' game only to clean it up after being released in the markets. With the delay of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, they presume a better game quality as the developers had promised their extended post production efforts.

Square Enix and Eidos Montreal's Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is rescheduled for release on August 23, 2016. The game will be available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
