Motorola has been making noise in the tech department as one executive already declared the software's official rollout in two countries and this revelation prompted reports that the giant's 2015 flagship device Moto X Play nears the upgrade. Per statement from tech sites, Marshmallow will hit the device before 2015 comes to a halt.
Moto X Play took center stage today as it has been reported to hit the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update this year. As Moto X Style and Moto X (2014) have been slated to get the update in the new few weeks, Moto X Play is also expected to follow suit.
Despite the device running on Android 5.1.1., the final Lollipop version, will still receive notable enhancements and changes in the user interface, battery and overall performance. According to a report from Android Standard, Moto X Play is on the top of Motorola's Marshmallow upgrade list.
Rollout is expected to begin in Northern America then Middle East, India and Europe in November or December.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is get improvements in app permissions, web experience, mobile payments, app link, battery, storage, menu, and user interface.
App permissions can individually deny or allow apps. Permission invitation will show up when the app is being launched and not at the point of installation.
App link is better improved; launching app links can be done over appropriate apps without re-prompting users which makes it more comfortable and user-friendly.
Automatic backup and restore can be used for apps, data, files, message, settings, location, etc. to save on Google Drive and can be downloaded after when transferring to another device or formatting it. However, per app is limited only to 25 MB and will not be counted to Google Drive's limits.
Another new Marshmallow improvement is the system user interface tuner. Marshmallow makes management of quick settings toggles and status bar icons better. Users also have the option to remove and add titles in Quick Settings menu, while it facilitates the status bar notifications better.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come with more new features.
