Developer Fucom's horror game, The Park, was originally released on October 27 for PC. The developers suddenly saw its quick success, which made them decide to have PS4 and Xbox One platform releases.
Having launched its release window, the game was scheduled to launch on Q1 2016. This, according to Gamespot, is the first console release for the game, which features the nightmare scenario for parents as the main character loses her son to an old, nearly-destroyed theme park. One must be able to explore the park and face its horrors. It is also reported that the game is a result of Fucom's new business strategy which aims to release small, experimental, and innovative games which focus on new format and platforms.
The first person horror game's sales and positive feedback led the developers for the console releases. According to CEO Rui Casais: "Encouraged by the positive reactions we have received on the Windows PC version, we are very excited about bringing [The Park] to consoles. Exploring a dark, sinister and frankly terrifying location from the comfort of your sofa, with the lights turned off and controller in hand, is sure to be a very rewarding experience." The whole game was short on gameplay, but is large on storytelling as described by Cinema Blend. Accordingly, one might be able to finish the gameplay in an hour or two.
The story puts the players in Lorraine's shoes, a young widowed mother who lost her son, Callum, in the Atlantic Island Park. In her search, she would discover a dark and tragic story behind the park. Latin Post reveals that by calling out, Callum's distant responses would lead a player to the right direction. Clues can also be obtained by listening to Lorraine's inner voice as well. The high quality graphics and audio delivers an atmosphere rich in mood and mystery.
Play as Lorraine as she searches for her son on a deserted and a horrific theme park through Fucom's The Park. The game is now available for PC, while PS4 and Xbox One releases by Q1 2016.
