In Episode 5 of "Supergirl" titled, "How Does She Do It?" Kara aka Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) takes on babysitting duties for her boss, Cat (Calista Flockhart), while struggling to save the day as well.
According to LatinPost, the preview for the episode shows Kara in pursuit of bad guys who are trying to bomb National City. While trying to stop the baddies, she also has to look after her boss' son, Carter (Levi Miller).
At first, Kara had a hard time connecting with her boss' son but eventually discovers that they actually have something in common. An exclusive sneak peek from Variety shows Kara and Winn (Jeremy Jordan) teasing Carter about having a crush on Supergirl because he was suddenly enthused upon seeing Supergirl on the news, saying she's "pretty cool."
In the coming episode, Kara takes on triple duties as revealed in the official synopsis. Aside from her day job and saving National City from a series of bombings, she is now tasked with babysitting Cat's son, Carter. Meanwhile, James faces some sort of dilemma when his ex-girlfriend Lucy Lane pays him a visit to discuss their relationship.
Lucy Lane's (Jenna Dewan-Tatum) character will not be rivalling Kara Danvers in her brewing romance with Lucy's ex-boyfriend, James Olsen (Mechad Brooks). The show's executive producer, Sarah Schechter, says in an interview with Variety that the show isn't interested in that kind of storyline between the two women. "One of the things Jenna really responded to - she has a daughter, so the idea of the diversity and positivity and complexity of the female characters on the show is really attractive to her... And the other thing she was happy to hear was something we all feel strongly about, which is that we're not creating a love triangle where she's mean to Kara. It's too easy, that's sort of a cheat - she wants to be friends with Kara too, and I think that's part of what's so interesting about this world, is how multidimensional all the characters are."
Episode 5 of "Supergirl" Season 1, "How Does She Do It?" was originally slated to air last week. But due to the devastating Paris terror attacks recently, the Thanksgiving episode "Livewire" was aired instead. This is due to the fact that Episode 5 deals with bombings in National City and CBS postponed its airing out of sensitivity to the recent terror attacks in Paris and around the world.
Catch the original 'Supergirl' episode on Monday, 8pm on CBS.
