T-Mobile is finally rolling out the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow build over the air to its Google Nexus 6 model as announced by the carrier on its support page. The new software brings in T-Mobile's native features and improvements.
The Google Nexus 6 model of T-Mobile begins receiving the mandatory software update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow since last November 20 bringing the new build number MRA58X. The upgrade will only come over the air when the device is connected to a Wi-Fi. Nevertheless, it can be downloaded over cellular network at a later date.
To check the availability of the upgrade, here's a few simple steps:
1. Go to Home screen.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Tap About phone.
4. Tap Software updates.
5. Tap Check for updates.
6. If available, follow onscreen instructions.
Before heading to the installation, the device's current build number should be LYZ28K. Make sure the battery is charged up to 50 percent or more to prevent interruption. Marshmallow will need 698 MB space.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow software will bring the following improvements, to wit:
1. Greater control over app permissions
2. Easier and more secure purchase method with Fingerprint support and Android Pay
3. Enhanced battery life through Doze
4. Redesigned App Drawer
Meanwhile, T-Mobile being one of the biggest mobile networks in the United States had revealed its Marshmallow roadmap, enlisting a slew of lucky devices, mostly flagship ones, on its support page. Aside from Google Nexus 6, Marshmallow has also been made available to Nexus 9, Nexus 7 and Nexus 5. Other devices in the waiting list include the following:
