In preparation with the newest Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, the smartphone makers are now busy rolling out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop upgrade. Recently, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active and Galaxy E7 received the latest Lollipop version through over-the-air.
According to MobiPicker, the owners of Samsung Galaxy S6 Active under the AT&T carrier have started getting an important software update. This current update is the last Lollipop version for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active.
Neurogadget added that there are few talks saying that Samsung has posted the arrival of the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OTA update for this device having build number G890AUCU3BOJE on the support page. But Samsung didn't confirm the new features this new OTA update, its size and when it will be coming.
Based on the Samsung page, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update comes with a Samsung Pay support, the mobile payment which rivals the Apple Pay and Android Pay.
As predicted, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OTA update for the Galaxy S6 Active will be released by AT&T in phases. Users of this handset will receive an alert for the update or they can also check it manually by going to the device's Settings->System->About Device->Software Update->Check for updates.
When it comes to the Samsung Galaxy E7's Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update, International Business Times reported that this handset has finally received the Lollipop OTA (over-the-air) update (E700HXXU1BOJ7 PDA) after months of waiting. The latest version of Android Lollipop came to the Galaxy E7 (SM-E700H) in India a few days after it was rolled out to the device (SM-E700F model) in Sri Lanka.
Furthermore, owners of Samsung Galaxy E7 should get Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update notification when they are connected to Wi-Fi or Internet. The software can be downloaded by selecting download option before pressing Install option. The handset will restart automatically once installation is done and the software will start running. Another option is to manually check the availability of new software by going to - 'Settings' >> 'About phone' >> 'System update' >> 'Check For Update'.
The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy S6 Active and Galaxy E7 may indicate that these handsets will be receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow next. But as for the moment, owners of these smartphones should enjoy the enhancements and developments that the Lollipop update brings to their gadgets.
