'Shameless' Season 6 Spoilers, Update: Showtime Releases New Trailer; Sherilyn Fenn Lands Recurring Role

By

Showtime has released a new trailer for the forthcoming sixth season of Shameless, giving fans a sneak peek into the lives of Fiona and co. in the new bunch of episodes. In other developments, the dramedy has booked Sherilyn Fenn to play a recurring role in the new season.

As seen in the 2-minute clip released by Showtime through Youtube, the Gallaghers will be facing another one hell of a season this coming January. The highlights of the teaser include: Fiona taking her relationship with her boss into a romantic level, Frank being weirdly emotional with his kids and Carl marveling his stay behind bars. And as expected, chaos and family drama will be heavily felt throughout the entire season.

The trailer also answered one of season five’s cliffhanger about Debbie: she is not pregnant. As for Lip and his odd relationship with his college professor, that arc will continue in season six. For Mickey and Ian shippers, it appears that the ex-couple will be trying to work out their relationship as Ian is seen visiting Mickey while he’s serving time.

According to Screen Crush, Shameless season six will pickup a few months later following last year’s finale. The theme will be about the difficulties of facing change, while the Gallaghers struggle with finding out who they really are as a person. The logline also asks: “Is it really possible that the Gallaghers could grow apart for good?” Viewers will have to wait and see.

In other developments, the show has recruited Ray Donovan’s Sherilyn Fenn to recur in season six. Fenn will play Queen, a sensual and joyous woman who had a brief sexual encounter with Frank while they were high on drugs.

According to Deadline, their encounter resulted to the birth of Sammi (Emily Bergl). Queenie is also described as a force of nature who makes her living through a massive pot operation.

Showtime season 6 will premiere on Sunday, Jan. 10th at 10pm on Showtime.
