'Suits' Season 5 Updates: Legal Drama Wraps Up Production; Crossover with CBS’ The Good Wife Possible?

By

Suits has officially wrapped up production for season five, creator Aaron Korsh and the cast have recently shared the news. Meanwhile, a potential crossover between Suits and The Good Wife is being discussed online.

Following the announcement of its return date, Suits has also finished shooting the remaining episodes of season five. In recent weeks, the series’ fandom has been offered by USA Network a promo for the eleventh episode where we saw Mike Ross facing the aftermath of his arrest.

Just a few days ago, creator/showrunner Aaron Korsh and cast members Sarah Rafferty and Meghan Markle took it to social media to share the news that they have officially concluded production for the show’s latest season.

“It's 6:32 AM Toronto time. We're almost done shooting the Season Five Finale of #Suits. Maybe another hour,” Korsh tweeted on Sunday.

Rachel Zane’s portrayer, meanwhile, shared a photo of her while on the set of Suits.

“My last scene of season five for #suits. Thanks to our amazing cast and crew who kept me laughing for the past eight months - down to the very last second,” Markle wrote in the photo she shared on Instagram on Monday.

The actress also thanked the “suitors” for their support, stressing how much she loves them. “Season six, here we come!” she enthused.

Based on the photo, it seems that viewers will be seeing Rachel spending the finale alone in her room. Since her fiancé was last seen being handcuffs by the feds, seeing her going solo by the final hour would make sense.

However, that theory is yet to be confirmed as we wait for new developments to emerge.
Markle’s co-star, Sarah Rafferty, also shared a behind the scene photo during season five’s final shooting days.

“Shooting our last #Suits Donna/Rachel scene of season 5. It's almost a wrap,” Rafferty wrote on Instagram last week.

In other Suits news, CarterMatt recently posted a ‘crossover November’ report featuring two of today’s hottest legal dramas: Suits and The Good Wife.

While this is still a subject for debate, it’s going to be an interesting ride if USA Network and CBS agree to merge both shows in one or two hours of television. But the location is probably going to be an issue because a Suits is set in New York, while The Good Wife is shot in Chicago.

Showrunners Robert and Michelle King nor Aaron Korsh have not yet commented on this development.

Suits will return on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 10PM on USA.
