"The Fosters" Season 3 will return after a mid-season hiatus on January 25 with new family dynamics after Callie's formal adoption by Stef and Lena. The season return was moved back a week by ABC Family which will soon be known as Freeform. Together with the new series "Recovery Road", the series will make a good drama lineup for the network. No reason however was given for the re-scheduling.
Fans are hoping that "The Fosters" Season 3 will pick up not too long after the mid-season finale so they will have an opportunity to see what the adoption means for Callie and Brandon's relationship. Cartermatt reports that compelling plot lines such as the couple's and relatable characters are the reasons the show is one of the network's most popular shows.
The episode before the break ended with the judge finally approving Callie's adoption. Connor and Jude had a heartbreaking twist in their relationship and Noah Centineo made his debut as the new Jesus.
According to Christian Post, the upcoming episodes will find Callie and Brandon trying to move on with their lives and accept the fact that they are now foster siblings. In episode 9, thinking that Callie was not going to be adopted, the two gave in to the sexual tension between them and had sex.
IB Times says EP Peter Paige called the teen-age couple star-crossed lovers and explained, "We have to continue to cross those stars. They believed that the adoption was off the table. They were alone in a cabin and the situation presented itself and it felt true to who the characters were."
Meanwhile, Connor faces life living with his mom while trying to maintain his long-distance relationship with Jude. Will their relationship survive the new set-up or finally will have to call it quits?
Noah Centineo, who replaced Jake T. Austin as Jesus, is said to be greatly challenged not only by placing himself in someone else's role but also with the haters and people who might not be ready to see a different face in a familiar role. Through it all, Centineo was able to carry out the challenge.
