HTC One A9 is expected to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update soon. The OS update will bring new features and enhancements to the HTC handset.
According to Latinos Post, Jason Mckenzie, HTC president in the U.S., said that only HTC One A9 unlocked phones in the United States will be able to obtain the fast updates. The units that were purchased abroad may have to wait longer to receive one.
Mckenzie also assured users that the products will get more of the security phone updates and bug fixes. HTC also stated that monthly security updates will become available for unlocked U.S devices and that the initial update will start rolling out on Nov. 20, 2015.
With this, the HTC One A9 users should expect the updates to arrive in the following days. The upgrade should be available via over-the-air (OTA), so they should check their notifications every now and then.
The update is believed to bring enhancements on overall user interface and experience. There will also be more security measures and bug fixes to guarantee smooth operation. More updates and details on Android 6.0 Marshmallow will also arrive on the HTC One A9 soon.
BGR cited the features and specifications that the HTC One A9 carries. This handset sports a 5-inch full HD (1080p) display covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is engineered with a Qualcomm's 64-bit Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor and is packed with 3 GB of RAM. This smartphone also features 32 GB of built-in storage and supports microSD card slot for further expansion of up to 2TB.
As for the gadget's camera, the One A9 is armed with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with true-tone LED flash OIS and a 4-UltraPixel front-facing snapper. It is powered by a 2,150mAh non-removable battery and Quick Charge 3.0 feature. When it comes to the connectivity options it has 4G support, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth and GPS.
Android Headlines added that the HTC One A9 has gone on sale back in October. Moreover, the handset is still on sale but on a raised in price. The device is now tagged on the normal, non-promotional cost of $499.
