Gal Gadot is set to debut in the DCEU as the Amazon princess Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman. Gadot released the first look at her character through social media while the film's official cast was also confirmed.
Gadot has recently released a photo of herself as Diana Prince wearing a hood to disguise herself in front of the Big Ben. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the actress revealed the photo on her official Twitter account, "Almost 75 years in the making... #WonderWoman is underway", Gadot captioned.
Furthermore, as reported by Hitflix, the cast for the upcoming feature was also confirmed with Chris Pine as Steve Trevor. Robin Wright is also on board for the role previously linked to Nicole Kidman. She is currently set to play as Diana's mother, and the Queen of Amazons.
The official logo for Wonder Woman was also revealed recently through its merchandising retailer, Graphitti Designs. The logo shows the 'WW' letters for the character embossed in gold. The lettering also reportedly bear similarities with the golden crest on the titular character's armor.
Moreover, while official details are currently under wraps, several speculations regarding its plot suggest that the film will move from flashbacks toward the present day. According to Christian Post, it is also rumored that Pine will be playing dual roles.
Several claims suggest that Diana will initially meet Trevor's grandfather who lands into Themyscira where the Amazons live in. He eventually meets Diana and joins her on her mission to fight against Ares. However, he eventually dies, and so after some time Diana gets to meet his grandson.
Before she gets to kickass on the big screen in her solo outing, Diana Prince is set to debut in the DCEU through the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice where she is speculated to help the Caped Crusader and the Man of Steel take down a great enemy.
Patty Jenkins is officially on board to direct Wonder Woman, from screenplay written by Jason Fuchs. It is currently slated to hit theaters on June 23, 2017. More details are expected to be revealed when production progress.
