After his debut in the DCEU as the Caped Crusader in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Ben Affleck is set to star and direct the upcoming Batman solo film. While plot details are currently under wraps, several plot speculations have already surrounded the project.
Affleck is DCEU's Batman in the upcoming Batman vs Superman and the succeeding films where Gotham's vigilante is set to appear, which includes his solo film. Although plot details are currently unknown, the involvement of Jared Leto's Joker is highly speculated.
However, according to International Business Times, although the main villain status remains with the Joker, he might not be the only villain, as the second Robin, Jason Todd, who became Red Hood in the comics might also go up against Batman.
The upcoming feature is reported to be based in "Under the Hood" and "A Death in the Family" comic series where Todd was killed by the Joker and later resurrected as an anti-villain who fought criminals but also aimed to destroy the Caped Crusader.
According to Den of Geek, Red Hood is rumored to pretend as Batman and commit acts that will lead people to think that Batman is a criminal. But even then, Batman will not be alone as the first Robin, Dick Grayson, is also rumored to appear to help as Nightwing.
But before Affleck heads to the Batman solo film, he is set to go against Superman next year in Batman v Superman, which as reported by Variety, Affleck admitted that the pressure is high for the movie.
"I think there is a ton of pressure on it", he said. "I mean I would be bulls-ting you to say there isn't."He also went on to commend Warners CEO Kevin Tsujihara for his involvement and passion to make the movie better.
As of writing, no other actors aside from Affleck have been attached to the upcoming Batman Solo film. No release date has been slated for the project either but more details are expected to be revealed when production makes some progress.
