The girl group from the Philippines, 4th Impact, was voted off from "The X Factor" on Sunday night. The group thus becomes the ninth act to be eliminated from the ITV talent competition show.
The 4th Impact landed on the bottom two along with Lauren Murray. The group was eliminated following its performances of Michael Jackson's "I'll Be There" and the "Fancy/Rich Girl" mash-up on Saturday night. 4th Impact mentor Cheryl Fernandez-Versini called their performance as an absolute slum dunk according to Zeibiz.
The two acts then competed in a sing-off with the group act singing "I Am Telling You" from the Dream Girls movie while Lauren performed Mariah Carey's "'Vision Of You".
However, the judges Nick Grimshaw, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Rita Ora and Simon Cowell failed to reach a majority verdict and the vote was taken to Deadlock. The acts were given two votes each with Simon, who voted for the girl group, calling the sing-off the best the show ever had. Hosts Caroline Flack and Oily Murs then revealed that it was 4th Impact that got the lowest number of public votes.
Moments after 4th Impact's elimination was announced, one of its members Celina, was seen being carried off stage by paramedics. Fernandez-Versini was talking to the girls when Celina suddenly collapsed and fell unconscious. The mentor was clearly shaken as she later informed Xtra Factor's Rochelle Humes that Celina was being seen by paramedics.
A representative for "The X Factor" released the following statement to Metro UK, "Celina was taken unwell after the show came off air. An ambulance was called and she was seen by medics at the studio. She has since gone home to rest with her mother and her sisters."
Meanwhile, Che Chesterman managed to make it through the latest elimination despite stumbling through his Saturday night performance of Adele's "Hello". He forgot the lyrics during the first verse of the song and ad-libbed his way to the chorus when he managed to get his performance back on track reports Metro UK.
With the elimination of 4th Impact, four contestants still remain in competition. Che Chesterman, Lauren Murray, Louisa Johnson and Reggie 'n' Bollie will take the stage next week in "The X Factor" semifinal round.
