"Narcos", the Netflix series that follows the rise and fall of Pablo Escobar's drug empire found itself in an enviable position when barely a week of its release, the streaming giant immediately announced the renewal for a "Narcos" Season 2.There were only 10 episodes in the first season and fans who had binge watched could not wait to get more of the addicting series.
The first season of "Narcos" told the story of Escobar from when he started his cocaine trade and eventually established his multi-billion dollar drug cartel that made him one of the wealthiest men in the world. Season 1 covered the years from 1989 to 1992 when Escobar escaped from his prison he named La Catedral.
According to Ecumenical News, there is no official date yet on the "Narcos" Season 2 premiere. However, the speculation that it will be sometime in August next year seems to be on point because Netflix is known to debut a new season in the same month as the premiere season. If this will be made the basis, then August 26 is the most likely date that Netflix will drop the new season.
Meanwhile, Christian Post reports that Eric Lange will be joining the cast when "Narcos" Season 2 hits the small screen. The Bridge alum will play the role of Stechner, the intimidating Special Agent who is in charge of the CIA Medellin office. Together with DEA agent Javier Pena, they are credited for investigating and capturing the notorious drug lord.
There have been a lot of speculations what "Narcos" Season 2 will be about. The death of Pablo Escobar's death is believed to be the culminating event of next season. It is also easy to speculate that the new season will be covering Escobar's life from his escape until his death in the latter part of 1993. It would also seem that the manhunt for Escobar will take up much of the season.
It seems that there will be almost a year's wait until Netflix will release "Narcos" Season 2. It's good that there are a lot of updates and information online about the show to keep the fans entertained.
