'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' will feature the return of Milla Jovovich as the lead protagonist Alice. She recently shared a photograph of her character as an aged woman but said that it had nothing to do with the concluding scene. The actress is known for sharing behind-the-scenes images of the upcoming film on her social media accounts.
According to Digital Trends, the sixth and concluding film in the live-action adaptation of Capcom's popular video games of the same name will feature Milla Jovovich as an aged Alice. Jovovich returns to reprise her role as the main protagonist in the cinematic series. She plays Alice, a character with a principal role in each of the films' storylines that follow her struggles against the evil Umbrella Corporation.
Jovovich recently posted a sneak peek of the geriatric Alice on her personal Instagram account and she looked undoubtedly unrecognizable under all the make-up and prosthetic skin. According to Comic Book, the 39-year old actress revealed that the make-up process took around four hours. She also confirmed that the image had nothing to do with the film's final scene.
An article on Game Zone posted the upcoming film's official synopsis. It stated that 'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' will follow the events after 2012's 'Resident Evil: Retribution' and will take place in Raccoon City where the Umbrella Corporation is preparing for a final showdown to eradicate the remaining survivors of the zombie apocalypse.
An excerpt revealed, "...In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between losing her superhuman abilities and Umbrella's impending attack, this will be Alice's most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion."
In the prior film, Alice lost her superhuman abilities and it may be possible that she will get them back in the follow-up. After her exposure to the Umbrella Corporation's T-virus experiment, she gained enhanced strength, agility, senses, speed as well as accelerated healing. She developed telekinetic abilities later in the cinematic series.
'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' is an upcoming science-fiction horror film written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson. It is intended to be the final film in the series and is scheduled to premiere on January 27, 2017. It stars model-actress Milla Jovovich in the lead role as well as Ali Larter, Shawn Roberts, Ruby Rose, Iain Glen, William Levy, Eoin Macken and Lee Joon-gi.
