The fourth installment of hit TV series Vikings is said to premiere next year, but many avid fans are excited for the new series to hit the small screens. There are many speculations surrounding the next season, specifically who will sit the throne once Ragnar dies. Meanwhile, Lagertha seems to be fiercer while a mysterious man visits Aslaug. Also, series executive producer Michael Hirst gives out important details about the show's new season.
After Alexander Ludwig posted a picture of a much older Bjorn Ironside in his Instagram account, Katheryn Winnick, who plays the role of Lagertha Lothbrok, posted a few pictures on her Instagram account featuring behind the scenes of Vikings season 4. One specific photo is of Lagertha in room full of dead bodies while she holds a blood stained knife and the photo caption "the best worst slumber party ever". Winnic also posted a picture of her wearing Lagertha's armor. Although the real Lagertha will definitely die, it would seem that she won't go out without a fight.
Meanwhile, a post from Christian Today reports a mysterious cloaked man visits Aslaug, played by Alyssa Sutherland. The man says, "A woman will one day rule in Kattegat." But Aslaug appears to doubt if she is the ruler that the man is talking about as she asks him, "Will it be me?" Aslaug loved the power to control the kingdom back in season 3 and it seems she wants to continue sitting on the throne.
Meanwhile, Vikings' executive producer Michael Hirst teased the possibility of King Ragnar's death come Season 4 and that his first-born son Bjorn Ironside will serve as his successor as King of Kattegat in Denmark, according to Master Herald. Hirst also said in a recent that fans should take note of the fact that King Ragnar is not only sick, but he is actually hovering from life and death.
Vikings Season 4 will premiere in 2016 on History Channel.
