The Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet device is heading to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade next year. According to earlier reports, the upgrade will be up as early as January or later in April.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow software is finally bound to Xperia Z4 Tablet next year, as confirmed by the Japanese tech titan last October. With XDA Developers community's concept for the Marshmallow software, the device is surely bound for an extraordinary user experience, not any Android-ran phone can have.
Xperia Z4 Tablet was first released in June 2015. It is a 10.1-inch tablet whose display is made of IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. It sports an 8.1 MP back camera, 5.1 MP front camera, 3 GB of RAM, and a non-removable 6,000 mAh battery.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow concept has found its way to Sony adding new apps made by XDA Dev. However, the official version will brings a redesigned app menu, efficient app standby and Flex storage, among many others.
The redesigned app menu places the search bar at its top, it becomes smoother with Marshmallow with its new vertical scrolling. Meanwhile, it offers easier way to look for anything on the device using the most accessible and ultra-convenient search bar.
With the app standby, it becomes efficient than before. It will show ideal or prospect apps that users might want to use. It will also disable these apps if found idle to save power consumed by automatic syncs.
The Flex storage combines both the microSD slot's space and the RAM, so that users can use it to install apps and app data. However, slower memory cards can trigger low speed warning.
Finally, the Android Run Time (ART) has been hugely improved since its KitKat debut. With Lollipop, ART comes as Default settings in lieu of Dalvik cache to advance performance and help decrease RAM use. With Marshmallow, power consumption has been further optimized to help battery use slow down as well.
