Bandai Namco has been silent on the updates of the crossover game Tekken X Street Fighter leading to some speculations that the game might have been scrapped. Recently, game developer assures fans that the face-off among fighters of two famed games is still a go.
Tekken Game Director Katsuhiro Harada comforted worried fans that the game will certainly be published, wrote MNR Daily. Harada added that the unveiling of the game is imperative as the game itself so they are getting an unspoiled way to launch it. He further explained that following the long wait for Tekken X Street Fighter after it has been announced, Bandai Namco is planning a surprise for the eager fans.
Fans surmised that the surprise may come in the form of new fighters since both the forthcoming Street Fighter V and Tekken 7 will have new members in each character roster, observed Christian Today.
The site added that Harada mentioned the character lineup have been decided some time before. The polygon models, move and game systems are also complete.
Event Hubs recalled one reason of the delay is that the game will change its title making Tekken X Street Fighter just a working title. Harada stated that "the game known as Tekken X Street Fighter is actually just a working title, and when it will be released, it may be called something different."
The possible title change might be part of the surprise Banda Namco keep bringing up, the site wrote. Since the game developer is mum on information with regards to the details of the game, Tekken X Street Fighter could be modified.
Event Hubs cited Harada saying "I'm not sure what will end up happening exactly, but I've had something in mind for a long time. So, we might even change the title of the game."
Tekken X Street Fighter is produced by Katsuhiro Harada and developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment. Although no debut date yet, the game is available for PS 4, Xbox One and PC.
