The Samsung Galaxy S6 gets a Custom ROM for Android 5.1.1 via NobleROM

A custom ROM for Android 5.1.1 Lollipop mobile operating system has been released for Samsung Galaxy S6 owners.

The custom ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S6 handset is made available to users via NobleROM and is compatible with Galaxy S6 smartphones bearing the model number SM-G920F, says Latin Post. To check the model number of the phone, users can head to Menu, tap Settings, and then look for Model Number option.

According to Team Android, The custom ROM by NobleROM is a complete Galaxy S6 Edge firmware port and contains every single Galaxy S6 Edge feature that is exclusive to Samsung. The basic features include the following:

  • Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
  • Complete Galaxy S6 Edge Port.
  • Fast & Smooth.
  • Stable.

To install the custom ROM, users might want to start by backing up all their necessary files before moving to get the custom firmware. Getting the ROM files requires that the handset be connected to a computer via a USB port, and thus must have USB drivers for Samsung Galaxy S6 installed properly.

Users can then download the NobleROM to a computer, and then connect and mount the Galaxy S6 USB memory to the computer using the USB cable. Files are then to be pasted to the phone's memory of SD card. Next step is to go into recovery mode (via TWRP) by turning on the phone while pressing and holding Volume Up + Home + Power buttons together. From then on, the custom ROM can be installed.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is the company's 2015 flagship that packs a 5.1 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution and 577 ppi pixel density. The phone is powered by a Exynos 7420 chipset, with a Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 2.1 GHz Cortex-A57 CPU, and runs on 3GB of RAM.

The phone is available in 3 memory size variants - 32, 64 and 128 GB, and in four colour variants - White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Blue Topaz.
