The OnePlus has been busy launching devices this year, putting out the OnePlus 2 during the summer and the OnePlus X in October, but the company isn't done yet. The Shenzhen-based Android phone maker is now creating another product that is both interesting and intriguing - an iPhone Case.
Being called the Sandstorm, the OnePlus built iPhone case houses the iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus. Tech Crunch notes that the case comes with a good quality texture that gives iPhone owners a strong grip and the case feels sturdy enough and heavy duty.
The OnePlus official blog casually compares the premium iPhone casing to Jon Snow - 'rough, yet charming, and one-of-a-kind (and definitely not dead)'. The reason why OnePlus made the casing, according to the company, is because it's the holiday season and is an expression of a culture of giving and sharing.
The casing is available for shoppers at $19.99, which is not too high for a high-quality casing like the Sandstorm.
The interesting piece, notes EN Gadget, is not the casing itself, but the note that comes with the casing, which makes an open invitation to iPhone owners, who shelled out $649 for the handset, to buy the much cheaper $249 OnePlus X.
The OnePlus X has been compared many times with the iPhone for its look and feel. The device packs a 5 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 carrying Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box. The CPU is a Quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400, and the GPU is an Adreno 330.
The primary camera packs a 13 megapixel resolution with phase detection autofocus, LED flash, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and HDR. The secondary camera has 8 Megapixels.
Internal memory is 16 GB and expandable to 128 GB via a microSD card slot, and packs 3 GB in RAM.
