Capcom's fighting video game, Street Fighter 5, is reported to have its beta phase to return on December 17 up until December 20. The information was first revealed by an advertisement from the PlayStation Store.
As IGN revealed, Street Fighter 5 was confirmed to be one of the playable games for the PlayStation Experience on December 5 to 6. Earlier, the game's beta received an update, upgrading it to v 1.06. PlayStation Store reveals in a screenshot the pre-order advertisement which confirmed dates. However, Capcom still needs to officially confirm any details regarding the next beta phase. Reportedly, all fifteen characters including Dhalsim, the new one, will be playable. Six more characters are also expected to release in the first year of the game's launch while there is still one last new character to be revealed.
According to a review by PCGamesN, whether the beta is making it to the motherboards is yet to be confirmed. However, the site speculated that Capcom might want to avoid letting fans have access to it, given the amount of datamining and surprises spilled in the last PC beta. The site further opined that the gaming community will have such official confirmation along with details on which characters, stages, and modes shall be available in the upcoming PlayStation Experience.
Among the new playable characters that have been made available is Rashid, a Middle Eastern who utilizes the power of wind to unleash powerful special attacks. One of his moves grants advanced movement options to the character as showcased by the video which recently surfaced online. Geek Snack further reports that new Street Fighter 5 screenshots have been made available which showcased the unique Tutorial Mode, featuring younger versions of Ryu and Ken, as well as Master Gouken.
Capcom's highly anticipated fighting game, Street Fighter 5, is scheduled for release sometime in February of 2016. The game will be available in all regions on PS4 and Xbox One.
