Google Now Releases New Features for Google Users

By

Android's Google Now has proven to be an extremely useful tool for Android phone owners, and has continued to see more improvements in the past upgrades.

Phone Arena notes that one of Google Now's latest capabilities involve showing the past 5 messages when users give the command, "show me my latest messages." First, Google Now asks if the user wants to hear a message, and then it asks whether replying to the message is an action that one wants to take.

Google Now also acts as an assistant by searching information online such as details on people, stock market prices, latest and current news, conversion of units and many more, according to Green Bot. Moreover, Google Now can also perform a number of productivity commands like setting an alarm, creating a calendar entry, making notes and leaving reminders.

Google Now also makes use of other Google products such as YouTube. Through a voice command, Google Now can play any song instantaneously from YouTube, and can also take commands to open Spotify as well.

BGR also shares how Google Now can be proactive in serving Android users, including being able to warn users of inclement weather ahead of time. This makes it a lot easier to make plans for outdoor activities and travels.

Google Now is also best for communication functions, like asking to call someone or send an email, and also for navigation and travel, like getting directions to the nearest gas station while on the road.

Google Now is available on Android Mobile and Android Wearables, but more importantly, it is also available for iOS users. It can be accessed by downloading the Google app for iOS, signing up to a Google account and swiping up the card at the bottom of the screen. Users can also maximize Google Now by using Google Now Cards, a search suggestion system for users that can help find information without even entering a search query for it.
