The Android Marshmallow upgrade for Nexus 7 and 9 are available over the air, and users are scouring the internet to find them.

Fot the Nexus 7 under T-Mobile subscribers, which is a model from 2013, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware update was stopped midway a week back, but will now resume for the rest of December, says Yibada. The pausing of updates were reportedly because of some unforeseen bugs for the tablet.

On November 30, Know Your Mobile made an announcement that the Nexus 7 (2013) and the Nexus 9 are now available over the air. This is good news for those who read previous rumours that the two handsets would not be receiving the update.

The Nexus 7 is a tablet with no cellular connectivity, first launched in June but given a 2013 rendition. The body's dimensions are 198.5 x 120 x 10.5 mm and it weighs about 340 grams, according to GSM Arena. It's display packs a 7.0 inch LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a screen resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels and a pixel density of 216 pixels per inch. It's powered by a NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor with Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 and provides 1GB of RAM. Nexus 7 was built by ASUS.

The Nexus 9, on the other hand, was built by HTC and sports a 8.9 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a screen resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels. It is enclosed in Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is run by Nvidia Tegra K1 chipset with Dual-core 2.3 GHz Denver CPU. RAM is at 2 GB. The Nexus 9 was launched more recently in 2014, and launched with Lollipop (5.0) coming out of the box, whereas Nexus 7 launched with Kitkat.

Both tablets carry variations based on their internal memory. The Nexus 7 carries three - 8, 16 and 32 GB - and the Nexus 9 carries 2 - 16 and 32 GB. Users can update their devices by going to Settings> About device> System Updates> Check for Update.
