Nexus 7 (2016) to be Launched Simultaneously w/ Android N at the Google I/O Event, Manufactured by Huawei?

The upcoming Nexus 7 2016 tablet might be manufactured by the Chinese tech company, Huawei. It is expected to be launched on Google's I/O event next year together with the Android N.

According to Know Your Mobile, despite the handful of technical problems with the Nexus 6P, it seems that Google is still giving Huawei another opportunity to prove the company's ability as a part of the Nexus program. This time, it will be a tablet if the brand new rumors are to be believed. The device will reportedly be launched next year as a Nexus 7 (2016).

As noted by the site, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P were previously rumored as the Nexus 5 (2015) and Nexus 6 (2015) respectively. However, Google seems to have changed its naming convention as it was recently found out through the comments of Google engineers post-launch that the 'X' and 'P' monikers were very deliberately chosen to indicate the place of each device in the Nexus range. The 'X' being the core of the 'Nexus' brand, and 'P' is being 'Premium'. With this, Google is speculated to come up with something similar for the 2016 edition Nexus 7 .

AndroidPIT cited some of the features that the Nexus 7 2016 might offer. Being a 7-inch tablet is one, just like the previous two models. The Huawei's Nexus 6P had an all-metal design so questions arise as to whether the new Nexus 7 (2016) would also sport the metal unibody club. Considering its reasonable price featuring solid specs, it seems that an all-metal design might be too much to wish for.

Neurogadget noted that Google has released another Nexus 7 in 2012 and 2013 in partnership with Asus, being a mid-range tablet with a plastic back and thick bezels. In fact, the first Nexus 7 tablet from the company, has sold over 500,000 units in the first month, reaching 1 million in the third quarter. The devices were always the first one to come running on Google's latest Android version and the fans wanted to test out the new features.

Now that the Nexus 7 2016 version is rumored to be launched together with the Android N, it is possible that this handset will be the first one to run in the upcoming OS. But for now, none of these are confirmed yet so avid fans of the company will have to wait for official announcements.
