YU's anticipated flagship, Yutopia is expected to be launched in Yu's event in December 7, however, YU's CEO Rahul Sharma confirmed that it will be delayed for a couple of weeks. The interruption is rumored to be due to the company's impending issue regarding the Ericsson patents.
The new expected date of launching of the handset is on December 17. Sharma revealed the news on Twitter, "Hold your excitement, as we plan to announce something special with YUTOPIA. The most powerful phone now launches on 17th Dec", he posted.
As reported by GSM Arena, the delay is due to another handset that the company is developing which they don't intend to release on a separate event. However, rumor mill suggest that the delay might be connected to the YU's restriction from importing or selling gadgets that infringe Ericsson's patent unless they pay the ordered royalties to the firm. The said restriction was ordered by the Delhi High Court.
Details on YU's Yutopia are unknown, although as reported by The Indian Express, Sharma previous stated that it will be the "most powerful phone on the planet". Moreover, it is expected to be released with a full metal body, ditching the plastic and sandstone which is YU's rumored take on OnePlus.
The company has been reported to be posting suggestive statements which are believed to be their indirect take against OnePlus and Apple. YU previously posted a photo of OnePlus 2 with the caption "Calling a 1080p Display a 2016 Flagship killer? #WhySettle #YUTOPIA,".
As suggested by Pocket Now's report, YU's Yutopia is rumored to be released with Cyanogen OS, and will house 4GB RAM, and Snapdragon 810 chip. It is also speculated to be released with 5.2-inch Quad HD display, and an 8MP camera.
However, while the official details about the features have not been revealed yet, it is wise to take internet rumors with a grain of salt. Details are currently unknown regarding YU Yutopia's price and other features.
