Much anticipation has been circling around the release of PlayStation VR, and a panel is set to take place soon to discuss the new gadget at Sony's PlayStation Experience 2015. Moreover, while details about the price have not been revealed yet, analyst Michael Pachter suggest that it is unlikely to cost more than Orculus Rift.
A discussion about "how VR will leave its mark on gaming and culture" is set to take place on December 05 at PlayStation Experience in San Francisco, California. As reported by IGN, the panel is expected to begin at 2:00 pm, and will last for 40 minutes. It will be hosted by Dave Ranyard, the Director at London Studio, along with Media Molecule's Anton Mikhailov, among many other guest developers.
Details on the PlayStation VR are currently scarce although Sony previously confirmed that it will be released sometime during the first half of 2016. Also, while several speculations are going around about the price of the VR, PlayStation Lifestyle reported that it could be cheaper than its competition as per analyst Michael Pachter stated.
"Whatever the headset costs, it's unlikely to cost more than Oculus, unlikely to cost more than Magic Leap, but you've already got the built-in console CPU/GPU combination that's already hooked up to the internet, already works, already does whatever you need to do. And so that processing power has humongous value.", Pachter said.
Furthermore, as reported by Video Gamer, PlayStation also released a video on Youtube, where gamers were made to try the new gadget. Some of the gamers described their experience as a "revolution in gaming", and "amazing" while also citing a full 360-degree view.
Although it is a quite expected for the product to garner positive feedback in the PlayStation Japan's video, it could also be a good indication of what gamers can expect when the product finally gets released in the market. More details about the PlayStation VR are expected to be unveiled during the upcoming panel.
