Apple is yet to announce the iPhone 6c but the rumor mill has been busy suggesting that it would be an upgraded version of the iPhone 5c. Analysts have also pitched a possible mid 2016 release date for the new handset contrary to some online leak of a February launching.
As reported by Express UK, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently shared potential design and specs for the new phone. Kou hinted that it is likely that Apple is currently preparing the launch of its 4-inch display phone which will highly resemble iPhone 5s.
The analyst also claimed that it will ditch the plastic case, thus, could be released with a unibody metal design with the same curve glass edge as the iPhone 6. It is also speculated to be made available in two to three colors.
Furthermore, according to Kuo, the features of the front-facing and rear cameras for iPhone 5s are likely to be retained in the new handset. The rumored specs for iPhone 6c revealed that it will be released with support for Apple Pay, and A9 processor.
According to Tech Radar, the new handset could be released with iOS9 and will serve as the replacement of the iPhone 5c. While details about its release date are unknown, an alleged Foxconn employee was rumored to have leaked that it will be released some time in February but IHS analyst Kevin Wang suggests that it is likely to hit the market shelves in mid-2016.
While an increase in length seemed to be the trend in the recent Apple handsets, claims suggest that the new iPhone will be the opposite, and will also be substantially cheaper than its recent predecessors. According to Digital Trends, the new iPhone 6c is expected to be released before the launching of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
Since iPhone 6c is expected to be a low-graded version of the recent line of iPhones, its price range as suggested by Kuo, could be between £260 to £330. Although the handset was rumored to have been scratched out from the Cupertino firm's plans, many aficionados are still looking forward and hoping for its release.
