'Thor: Ragnarok' will feature the return of Chris Hemsworth as the titular God of Thunder. The actor teased that there will be an impending fight between his character and Mark Ruffalo's Hulk. The film has also landed its third screenwriter Stephany Folsom.
According to We Got This Covered, Chris Hemsworth clued in on what audiences will come to expect in the sixteenth installment for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The actor, who plays the titular God of Thunder, revealed the continuing rocky relationship between his character and Mark Ruffalo's Hulk.
He said, "I'd like to think I let him win last time, but because this movie is called Thor, I have to win this time. I hope it's a Butch Cassidy (and the Sundance Kid) sort of story. That would be fun. I love Mark. I think those two characters haven't spent a whole lot of time talking to each other on screen (so far in the Marvel movies) , so it's something new, I think it would bring something different out of the characters. It's hard to have a conversation with the Hulk."
The two clashed in the previous Avengers films and will go for a possible rematch for the upcoming Marvel sequel although no official plot has been confirmed. According to Cinema Blend, Thor and Hulk battled it out in 2012's 'The Avengers' when the latter went on a rampage and Thor had to subdue him somehow. The superhero allies were last seen in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' with Thor returning to Asgard and Hulk going on a self-imposed exile after his Quintet crashed somewhere near Fiji.
Meanwhile, 'Thor: Ragnarok' landed its third scriptwriter. Stephany Folsom became the latest female scriptwriter to ever write for a Marvel film. She joins Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve who are currently involved with a female-oriented superhero film 'Captain Marvel'.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Folsom is best known for previous work on Disney's 'The Princess of North Sudan'. She also worked on 2012's 'Ds2dio 360' as well as '1969: A Space Odyssey of How Kubrick Learned To Stop Worrying and Land on the Moon'. The latter garnered praise for alternative storytelling that followed the story of a publicist convincing the legendary Stanley Kubrick of collaborating with NASA in order to fake the moon landing.
'Thor: Ragnarok' is an upcoming superhero film currently in pre-production under director Taika Waititi. It will star Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, and Jaimie Alexander. It is written for the big screen by Folsom, Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost.
