'Better Call Saul' Season 2 Spoilers: Jimmy’s Journey Towards Becoming Saul; Show Nominated for Three Awards

By

Saul Goodman is on the roll in the second season of Better Call Saul. The series is set to premiere next year on cable TV channel AMC and streaming service Netflix. Meanwhile, the Writers' Guild Awards nominated the series in three categories.

Rumor has it that season two will depict the journey that led Slippin' Jimmy to where he was as Saul Goodman in Breaking Bad, according to n4bb. In season one, Jimmy McGill, played by Bob Odenkirk, was described as a desperate and underpaid public lawyer who later became a con artist lawyer defending the guilty. He later changed his name to Saul Goodman to make it more appealing to his would-be clients.

The recently released trailer did not provide enough details for season two's storyline. However, it provides an important idea on what fans will expect. Aside from the transformation of Jimmy to Saul, it also shows Mike Ehrmantraut, played by Jonathan Banks, helping out Jimmy and having his own transformation as well. Mike was a former corrupt police officer who works with Saul as a fixer and private investigator.

"You can be on the same side of the law or the other. I've known good criminals and bad cops. If you make a deal with somebody, you keep your word," said Ehrmantraut.

Meanwhile, the hit Breaking Bad spinoff series is nominated for three awards by the Writers' Guild Awards according to BBC. The AMC/Nertflix show is up for the drama series and new series awards, while its launch episode is also nominated in the episodic drama category.

The show will face competitions from fellow hit TV series Game of Thrones, Mad Men final season, Veep, The Americans and new series Mr. Robot. Breaking Bad won several awards in the said awards competition.

The Writers' Guild Awards will be held on February 13, 2016.
