Brazilian actor Wagner Moura who plays Pablo Escobar in the Netflix hit series, participated in a Reddit Ask Me Anything where he revealed that "Narcos" Season 2 is now in production. He might also just have revealed a major spoiler for the new season that fans have been speculating on for several months now.
Moura was first asked who he loved working with and what his favorite scene in the first season was. He said he particularly loved working with Juan Pablo Raba who played Gustavo Gaviria although he said he enjoys working with all the actors on set. His favorite scenes to shoot were the scenes in La Catedral during the last episodes of the season reports iDigital Times.
He writes, "I really enjoyed doing the last scenes in La Catedral during the final episodes...In those episodes it was a different Pablo, he had changed... and that aims to what we are doing in the second season." He did not specify however what the changes in his character were says Christian Today.
According to Crossmap, one of the biggest criticisms for "Narcos" was Moura's accent. Since he is a Brazilian who did not even speak Spanish before he was cast in the role of the Columbian drug lord, issues about his accent should be expected. He revealed that all the other "Narcos" actors come from different parts of Latin America and tried to learn the correct accent but apparently not all of them succeeded. Moura closed the topic by saying that he would rather focus on working on his character than dwell on having an authentic accent.
Working on his Escobar character definitely required him to gain weight more than what is considered healthy. Moura said he needs to maintain the heavy weight now that "Narcos" Season 2 filming is underway. He shares, "Unfortunately I can't lose it, when Pablo died he was pretty fat so I guess I will just keep on eating delicious Colombian food!"
It is interesting that Moura mentioned Escobar's death while filming "Narcos" Season 2. This has been the subject of many fan speculations for months now. Is it possible that Moura just confirmed that Escobar will meet his death next season?
