Some users residing in Europe claimed to have received Android 6.0 Marshmallow in their Samsung Galaxy Note 4 handsets. An exclusive update schedule reportedly released by Samsung showed that Marshmallow will arrive as early as December 2015 to the Galaxy Note 5.
It seems that Samsung has already started releasing Android 6.0 Marshmallow to the Galaxy Note 4 in Europe as per International Business Times. Tech blog NapiDroid said that an Android Marshmallow update with build number N910FXXU1DOL3X was rolled out to Galaxy Note 4 users in Hungary.
The update was reportedly received by an editor of NapiDroid. However, reports say that Samsung only rolled out the Marshmallow update to Hungarian versions of the Galaxy Note 4. The update was based more on location rather than the phone model.
Others speculate that Samsung might have mistakenly released the update to the Galaxy Note 4 as per a report by Christian Today. Another possibility could be that Samsung first did a final soak test for the Android Marshmallow before its final release.
Samsung is yet to launch the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to the more recent flagships like the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy Note 5. KnowYourMobile said that Samsung released an exclusive Marshmallow update schedule with their lists of devices.
According to the schedule, Android 6.0 Marshmallow will arrive at the Galaxy Note 5 as early as December 2015. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy S6 are slated for Android Marshmallow update on January 2016.
The Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge are set to get Android Marshmallow on February 2016. They will be followed by the Galaxy A5 on March, then the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5 on April 2016.
The Android Marshmallow rollout in Hungary might mean that Samsung is gearing up to release the update to users worldwide. Samsung plans to include the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Alpha in its list of devices slated for Android Marshmallow update.
