‘Paragon’ Updates: Epic Games Debuts Cinematic Trailer, Address Game Issues

By

Developer Epic Games made the debut of the action-centric MOBA Paragon on a cinematic trailer during the recently held PlayStation Experience 2015 Keynote. After the show, Epic Games immediately addressed the gaming community regarding the confusion issues regarding the gameplay.

The trailer showcased the game's first ever first person shooter gameplay, as well as the game's stunning environments while the strings of M83's "Outro" blares in the background, not to mention lots of carnage and gunplay. The game is said to be released for Open Beta in the Summer of 2016 for PS4 and PC platforms, as reported by Hardcore Gamer.

However, a unique aspect of the game was further revealed. While it was told that Paragon shall be played in the likeness of a MOBA, it also involves a first person shooter as well. Yibada reports that the gameplay involves teams of five players each which battles for domination of the entire map. Furthermore, what made the game unique is that the game also involved card-dueling as well. Details of the feature, however, is yet to be revealed.

Ever since its announcement early in November, Epic Games have been releasing trailers which introduces the game's playable characters. However, a grandstand introduction was revealed during the PlayStation Experience Keynote in the form of a cinematic trailer. However, Game Rant reports that there might still be some confusion surrounding the game, given the presentation. The problem roots itself from the mere familiarity of Paragon wherein Epic focused on tagging the game as MOBA again and again which have conjured the likenesses of that of League of Legends and DOTA 2 among the gamers' mental pictures. After the event, the developers quickly addressed the issues, noting that the trailer was entirely in-engine, and that a pre-alpha gameplay trailer was also released which showed the "shooter at the heart of the MOBA".

To create anticipation, the Epic Games shall be unveiling a new Hero each week before the release of the diverse MOBA, Paragon. An Open Beta is scheduled on the summer of 2016 which will be followed by a paid access.
