Huawei has released a handful of promising smartphones this year, and they're planning to cap it off with the Huawei Mate 8 launch which is set for December 9th.
The Mate 8 flagship phablet is set to go on sale first in China on Wednesday, and will be priced at about CNY 2,999 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt internal memory version, and CNY 3,699 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version, says Gadgets NDTV.
For those who want a higher and more premium option, there is also a Mate 8 with 128 GB internal memory that will sell for CNY 4,399 and a Huawei Mate 8 Champagne Edition worth CNY 6,888. The announcement of pricing options came directly from Huawei's smartphone division.
According to GSM Arena, the Huawei Mate 8 phablet will be powered by a Kirin 950 SoC, which is Huawei's latest in-house processor, with octa-core CPUand Mali T880MP4 GPU. The chipset gives the Mate 8 a score of 94,250 on AnTuTu.
The device sports a 6-inch LCD display with 1080 x 1920 resolution, says Phone Arena. The rear camera carries 16 megapixels and includes a Sony IMX298 sensor, an aperture of f/2.0 and OIS. The front side self shooter is an 8 megapixel camera with a Sony IMX179 sensor, and an aperture of f/2.4. The battery is a powerful 4000mAh juicer.
The Huawei Mate 8 was first introduced to the phone-buying public late last month. The phone is also a dual sim card supporting device, with the second sim card slot doubling as the microSD card slot. The outside of the phone is covered by a metal-clad shell and will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Although, it is unveiled whether the smartphone will launch with the new firmware out of the box.
In terms of connectivity, the Huawei phablet also offers Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Micro-USB 2.0, GPS, DLNA, Bluetooth, 4G, and NFC connectivity options. Huawei says that they will release one million units of the Mate 8 a month.
