EP Alex Hirsch finally announced that "Gravity Falls" Season 2 will be its last to air on Disney XD. Despite his decision, the network remained by his side. The show also pioneered in the viewers' appraisals.
Executive producer Alex Hirsch admitted via his Tumblr page that "Gravity Falls" Season 2 will be the last season to air on TV. Hirsch explained, "There's no easy way to say it so I'm just going to say it: "Gravity Falls" is coming to an end.There are 2 more episodes left: Weirdmageddon 2: Escape from reality and Weirdmageddon 3 which will be our hour long series finale. After that, Gravity Falls as we know it will be over."
He added saying, "the truth is, it wasn't up to me. Before we started season 2, my writers and I decided that this season would be the last. I wanted to announce this to the world at large then, but I was restricted from doing so, mainly because I think a lot of people were hoping I'd change my mind.
But "Gravity Falls" was never meant to be a series that goes on and on forever. It's meant to be an exploration of the experience of summer, and in a larger sense a story about childhood itself. The fact that childhood ends is exactly what makes it so precious - and why you should cherish it while it lasts."
Moreover, Variety mentioned that Disney XD sticked with Hirsch's final decision of ending the show. However, some people behind the production crew will still be working with them on other shows and the network will still continue to release replays.
Other than that, the Disney XD series is a pioneer in viewers' appraisals. According to When Will, the show turned into pioneer among kid-targeted animated series. In 2013. the show has garnered 2 million views in the 2-11 1.6 million in the 6-11, and 1.3 million in the 9-14 demographic.
"Gravity Falls" Season 2 finale is entitled as "Weirdmageddon 3". The upcoming episode is speculated to air around early 2016. "Gravity Falls" is an American animated TV series.
