The list is expanding for Motorola devices that are expected to get the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The company has also recently added Moto E, Droid Turbo 2 & MAXX 2 as well as Moto X Force in the said list.
Motorola has officially announced a list of the devices that are expected to get the Android M update.As reported by Latin Post, the devices also included in the list are 2015 Moto X Style (3rd Gen), 2015 Moto X Play, 2015 Moto G (3rd Gen), 2015 Moto X Pure Edition, as well as the 2015 Moto E with 4G LTE which will be available in Latin America, Asia, Canada, and Europe.
The list further stated Android M updates for 2014 Moto X Pure Edition in the US (2nd Gen), 2014 Moto X in Latin America, Canada, Europe, and Asia (2nd Gen), 2014 Moto G and Moto G with 4G LTE (2nd Gen), DROID Turbo, 2014 Moto MAXX, 2014 Moto Turbo, Nexus 6, Moto X Force, DROID Turbo 2, and DROID Maxx 2. However, Moto E 4G (2015), as well as Moto X (2014) and Moto G 4G users in China are not expected to get the update, while Moto E in USA was also not listed.
Senior Director of Product Management for Motorola, David Schuster further revealed that the Android 6.0 M update is currently available in the United States through Verizon, Sprint, and US Cellular for the owners of Moto X Pure Edition (2015), as reported by Yibada. Android M Soak Tests are also underway in Brazil in India for Motorola Moto X Play while Brazil is also testing the Moto X Force handsets.
As reported by Tech Times, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is set to include new features in Motorola devices such as the 'Doze Mode', Google Now on Tap, Android Pay, Direct Share, and simpler volume controls.
The new update is also expected to enhance the support for back up of user data and terminate the Motorola Migrate and Google Chrome extension in Motorola Connect as its purpose will be served by other features in the update. The new Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is expected to arrive in more Motorola devices in the coming weeks.
