Ed Sheeran told his fans that he will be disappearing for a while, on social media that is and teased that he is now working on his third album.
Everyone loves Ed Sheeran. Whether it's with his music, his personality, his tweets and even his cute instagram photos with clever captions and sometimes lack thereof. So it's no shock that people were surprised and filled with mixed emotions when he posted a serious message on instagram. Aside from the fact that it's rare to have a serious moment with the British sensation, the message itself is what surprised the world the most.
"I've had such an amazing ride over the last 5 years but I find myself seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes so I'm taking this opportunity of me not having to be anywhere or do anything to travel the world and see everything I missed," he wrote. Us Magazine stated that he will be taking an extended hiatus.
But he also addressed that this hiatus will not be the end of his career. He will undergo a surgery early next year and he's simply taking advantage of that break to travel and actually see the world as it is. The Guardian said, "Although he was travelling the world, he wasn't actually seeing it." As per the reason why he's going to have surgery, "I stupidly jumped off a yacht really high up and smashed it," he told Australian radio station Nova.
The hitmaker also revealed in the post that he is currently working on his third album and said that it is "the best thing I have made thus far." But Billboard believes there's a good chance that we'll be seeing him on February for the upcoming Grammy since his "Thinking Out Loud" is nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, and The Weeknd's Beauty Behind the Madness, on which he's a featured artist, is nominated for Album of the Year.
Nobody knows what will happen to Ed Sheeran on his planned year long hiatus or what he'll be doing. But there's absolutely no doubt that all of his supporters will miss him and when he comes back, with his talent, character and personality, guaranteed, it will feel like he wasn't even gone at all. A year goes by so fast anyway. So cheer up, Sheerios! You'll be getting more of Ed Sheeran in no time.
