The Good Wife co-creators Robert and Michelle King are currently in the works of developing a new drama called Vatican City. In other news, series star Julianna Margulies has received a nomination for her performance on the legal drama at the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2016.
Fans of The Good Wife, who have been following the series for seven years, have a new project to eye on from the show’s creators. Last week, Robert and Michelle King have sold a new provocative drama, Vatican City, to Amazon.
According to Deadline, the fictional Vatican City will tell the story of a female American who works as an on-screen reporter at a financial news network based in Rome. The yet to be cast character will suddenly become the papal spokesperson after being assigned by the new pope.
The new project aims to explore the Catholic Church and its long history of sexism, TV Series Finale has previewed. It will also delve on the dynamic of working for the pope aka one of the most powerful and influential person in the world.
Robert and Michelle King will pen the script for Vatican City. The powerhouse duo will also serve as executive producers via their King Size Productions alongside president, Liz Glotzer.
In other Good Wife news, lead actress Julianna Margulies has been recognized by the Screen Actors Guild Awards for her performance as Alicia Florrick. The actress has been nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series, Variety reports.
Other actresses who also received a nod for their great acting include: Claire Danes for Homeland, Viola Davis for How To Get Away With Murder, Maggie Smith for Downton Abbey and Robin Wright for House of Cards.

Julianna Margulies is one of the remarkable actresses of her generation. That said, this nomination could signal high hopes for the legal drama who’s currently in the verge of being cancelled.
