The CW’s iZombie Season 2 has plotted a superhero-themed episode for this week. Aptly titled “Cape Town”, viewers will find Liv consuming the brain of a vigilante. In other developments, the CW has ordered six additional episodes for iZombie’s current second season.
The cast of iZombie shared their excitement for this week’s episode. Malcolm Goodwin, who plays Detective Babineaux, admitted that “Cape Town” is one of his favorites because it reminded him of the movie Kick Ass. The hit movie which starred Nicholas Cage and Chloe Moretz.
Goodwin also shared the traits of Liv’s new brain donor, he told IGN: “A teacher by day. He was a teacher at a woodshop and he posed as a superhero at night.”
According to the actor, viewers will meet several costumed vigilantes on “Cape Town”. “You see that he’s not the only one. He’s not the only superhero out there. So you get to meet all these crazy vigilantes of Seattle and all their costumes,” he enthused.
Series lead Rose McIver, meanwhile, expressed how she felt playing the role of a superhero.
“It’s so much fun to play a superhero! I feel like Liv kind of is a superhero in general, the way that she works and has this supernatural element that helps her do good for humanity and zomb-manity,” she explained.
Co-star Robert Buckley also shared his thoughts on one of iZombie’s most exciting episode, noting that any superhero fan will not be disappointed. He dropped that “Cape Town” is a big episode that Rose McIver really worked hard for. “There’s a lot of great action and a lot of great cape references and the hero lore that goes on,” he added.
McIver, feeling proud as a “kickass” superhero, shared a photo of herself while in costume. “Why is Liv a superhero tomorrow night....? Tune in to find out ☆ #iZombie,” the actress posted on her Instagram account.
In other iZombie scoop, the CW has granted the zombie comedy drama a full season order. This means that season two will now run for a total of 19 episodes. Deadline reported the news.
Starring Rose McIver, Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, Robert Buckley and David Anders, iZombie Season 2 airs every Tuesday at 9PM on the CW.
