Google is expected to release the Nexus 7 (2016) soon as the Nexus 7 (2013) goes on sale. The upcoming budget tablet might sport either a Kirin 950 chip or an NVIDIA Tegra X1 processor.

Google could be working on a successor to the Nexus 7 (2013) tablet. The Nexus 7 (2016) is anticipated to be released next year as the 2013 models get massive price discounts. The Nexus 7 (2013) by Asus is for sale on Groupon at the price of $100, reported International Business Times.

Previously, the Nexus 7 (2013) with 16GB was priced at $124 then was brought down to $109. Currently, the 2013 Nexus tablet can be purchased for $100. It was originally priced at $218. The tablet is available in grey, orange, pink, green, and black colors.

The Google Nexus 7 (2016) is expected to come with flagship specs. Google is reportedly working with Huawei to produce the Nexus 7 (2013) successor. This comes as a surprise to the tech community given that Google and Huawei's collaboration, the Huawei Nexus 6P, had major problems. The Nexus 6P was discovered to have serious design flaws that resulted to cracking and bending issues.

According to Vine Report, the Google Nexus 7 (2016) might share the same build as the Google Pixel C tablet. It could have 2GB or 3GB of RAM and a 10.2" display with 2560 x 1800 resolution and 308 ppi color density. It was reported that the 2016 Nexus 7 tablet will run Android Marshmallow.

On the other hand, online news site Yibada said that Google could equip the Nexus 7 (2016) with a Huawei-built Kirin 950 processor. The tablet could have a price of $400 for the 16GB version while the 32GB variant will cost an additional $40.

The rumored specs of the Nexus 7 (2016) are still based on speculations and not yet confirmed by Google. It was reported that the Nexus 7 line is popular among consumers because of its affordable price and premium specs.

The Google Nexus 7 (2013) is offered at a discounted price of only $100 for a limited period. Customers can save up to $118.01 (54% discount) with the deal offered by Groupon.
