Motorola publicly announced the coming of Android 6.0 Marshmallow to its Moto X Pure Edition smartphones, as David Schuster, senior director for software product management, shared his post publicly on Google + that the tech giant was able to score the upgrade support of US Cellular.

US Cellular has not spoken anything as of now with regards to the official over-the-air (OTA) roll out of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. However, the soak test of Marshmallow to three of Motorola's smartphone models that commenced late in November proves that the reports are true.

The test only took more than a week as normally it would for the company. It was undertaken with Moto X Play in India and Brazil and Moto X Force in Brazil also.

Along with US Cellular, other carriers that announced are Verizon Wireless and Sprint. T-Mobile, AT&T, Bell, Virgin Mobile and other telecom companies has not yet been revealed for the upgrade.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come to Moto X Pure Edition with two of the most popular additions and enhancements for the new build - a new battery saver and a smarter app permissions.

Doze, the power saving feature, will wisely manage battery usage of the phone. This feature moves itself to clean up what is running in the background to save some power. Those apps in idle he will stop as well whenever open.

Smarter app permissions lets users allow or access any permission asked by the device in the use of an app at the point of usage and not in the installation.

Marshmallow will also bring in a revamped app drawer, custom Chrome tabs, and a lot more.
