Motorola is well on its way to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade, as three of its devices have just finished the soak test. The company's executive already revealed that indeed the official over-the-air (OTA) Marshmallow release is coming to Moto X Pure Edition, Moto X Play and Moto X Force.
Moto X Pure Edition, Moto X Play and Moto X Force are the three fortunate devices of Motorola to pioneer the OTA roll out of Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade. This news came after David Schuster, Motorola's senior director for software product management, revealed on his Google + account that the soak test or the final testing phase of Marshmallow to the devices have been capped off and was deemed successful. The executive that mobile carriers in the United States Verizon Wireless, Sprint and US Cellular have confirmed already their release of Marshmallow to Moto X Pure Edition models.
Aside from Google Nexus devices, Android One and new phones fresh from the shelf, Android 6.0 Marshmallow has been seen to a Galaxy Note 4 accidently updated by T-Mobile and LG G4 in Poland.
Schuster underscored in his post that he shared publicly, that the official OTA release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come very soon. This prompted reports that Schuster's "soon" statement might mean anytime this month since soak test has just ended.
Other Motorola devices confirmed the upgrade includes 2015 Moto X Pure Edition (3rd gen), 2015 Moto X Style (3rd gen), 2015 Moto X Play, 2015 Moto G (3rd gen), 2014 Moto X Pure Edition in the US (2nd gen), 2014 Moto X in Latin America, Europe and Asia (2nd gen), 2014 Moto G and Moto G with 4G LTE (2nd gen), DROID Turbo, 2014 Moto MAXX, 2014 Moto Turbo and Google Nexus 6.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come with new features and improvements like the power saving feature called Doze, smarter app permissions, better app links, new app drawer and a lot more.
