Huawei followed up the Enjoy 5 with a new affordable flagship phone called Enjoy 5s. This new Huawei phone was released in China and runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop but might not get Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The Enjoy 5s is another affordable flagship offered by Chinese manufacturer Huawei. It is the successor the Huawei Enjoy 5 and was previously known as Huawei Honor 5X. The new Huawei flagship offers decent specs, design, and features at a reasonable price.
Online news site Yibada reported that Huawei already released the Enjoy 5s in China. The device is now getting raved reviews with its flagship specs such as a fingerprint scanner and 13MP rear camera with LED flash. It also sports a 5MP camera at the front for taking selfie photos.
The Huawei Enjoy 5s features a small 5" HD IPS touchscreen with 720 x 1280 pixels and 294 ppi color density. It has a thin and light build for greater portability. The Enjoy 5s is equipped with a fingerprint sensor at the back for device unlocking.
In terms of connectivity, the Huawei Enjoy 5s supports 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, and microUSB ports as per Phone Radar's report. However, a drawback for the flagship could be its small 2,200 mAh battery that can last up to 200 hours in standby mode.
The Huawei Enjoy 5s flagship comes pre-installed with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box. This could be a major turn-off for users who want to have their phones up to date with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow. WhaTech said that the Huawei Enjoy 5s might not receive the Android Marshmallow update.
Huawei's new flagship was launched in China on December 10. It is not yet known when the Huawei Enjoy 5s will hit international markets. At present, the Enjoy 5s is exclusive only to China. It rivals other affordable flagship phones available in the Chinese market, such as Xiaomi's Redmi Note 3.
Users can choose between three color variants of the Huawei Enjoy 5s: Gold, Silver, and Titanium Gray. The new Huawei flagship has a price tag of USD $189.
