Android 6.0 Marshmallow has officially arrived on the Motorola Moto X Style in the United Kingdom (UK). The update brings a few changes to Motorola features to enhance performance.
UK users of Motorola's Moto X Style can finally get a taste of Google's latest firmware, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The Marshmallow over-the-air (OTA) update for the Motorola Moto X Style has begun in Europe, particularly in the UK. Since the update will roll out in phases, more Moto X Style users in other European countries are expected to get the Marshmallow update soon.
The Moto X Style is Motorola's international variant of the Moto X Pure Edition in the US. According to a report by TechnoBuffalo, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Moto X Style first kicked off in Brazil and India in November 2015. Now, Marshmallow has reached UK users of the Moto X Style and will offer a slew of changes and new features to the Motorola handset.
The Indian Express reported that Android Marshmallow will bring changes to some Motorola features. In the latest Google firmware, Motorola will be removing the Moto Assist and the Motorola Migrate.
Android Marshmallow offers the 'Do Not Disturb' feature to replace Moto Assist. It will also increase support for data backup in place of Motorola Migrate. Motorola will also remove the Motorola Connect's Google Chrome extension to free up space in the phone.
Meanwhile, International Business Times said in a report that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will deliver new features to enhance the Moto X Style's performance. Such features include a battery-saving mode called 'Doze', native fingerprint scanner support, Google Now on Tap which brings up contextual results, and Android Pay support.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update for the Motorola Moto X Style has a size of 650 MB. Users are advised to have at least 50% battery charge on their phones before downloading and installing the update. Phones should be first connected to a WiFi network in order to download the Marshmallow update.
