The con artist in Jimmy McGill is finally coming back in Saul Goodman. AMC recently released a teaser trailer for Better Call Saul season 2 and the 20-second trailer clearly depicts his transformation. Meanwhile, nominations are in for lead star Bob Odenkirk and the show for 2016.
The Breaking Bad spinoff is still two months away, yet fans are getting more and more excited when the trailer video was released. In a post from Bustle, Season 1 ended with Saul basically deciding that following the straight and narrow just wasn't working out for him and instead choosing to embrace his criminal tendencies. The post added that it would be unchallenging should he not choose the dark side.
The trailer, according to Latin Post, is basically a montage of narration over a shot of McGill. The voice-overs reveal he is well on his way to becoming Saul Goodman, the man who would eventually make Walter White, the biggest drug kingpin in the southwest.
Jimmy McGill, played by Bob Odenkirk, really wanted to be moral and good despite being in a tight situation in season one. Yet it is typically his destiny to be more evil as Saul Goodman. It will not be an easy journey for Saul Goodman and it will be slow and tedious because he still has a few escapades to go through before he will start making his final decisions.
Meanwhile, Bob Odenkirk is nominated for the best actor award in both the 2016 Golden Globes and Screen Actor Guild awards, according to AMC. The 2016 Producers Guild of America has nominated Better Call Saul's Vince Gilligan, Peter Gould, Melissa Bernstein, Mark Johnson, Stewart A. Lyons, Thomas Schnauz, Gennifer Hutchison, Nina Jack, Diane Mercer, Bob Odenkirk for the Norman Felton Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Drama. The show is also nominated in the Writers' Guild of America Awards for Best Drama Series.
Catch the awards ceremonies to see if Better Call Saul bags the titles - the Golden Globe Awards air at 8pm ET on Jan. 10; the Screen Actors Guild Awards air at 8pm ET on Jan. 30; and, the Producers Guild Awards will air on Jan. 23.
