Huawei released the Huawei Honor 7 Enhanced Edition in China, packing Android 6.0 Marshmallow, bigger memory size, and new navigation features. Huawei is reportedly planning for a US launch of its devices soon.

Huawei updated the Honor 7 smartphone with the Honor 7 Enhanced Edition. The upgraded Honor 7 version runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.0, as opposed to the earlier model running on Android 5.0 Lollipop. The enhanced variant also has a bigger 32GB memory instead of the original 16GB.

Fonearena reported that the Huawei Honor 7 Enhanced Edition comes with new navigation features. The smartphone is equipped with a Smart Key that can be used as a quick shortcut. Huawei partnered with Baidu to bring voice command support for easier navigation in the upgraded Honor 7.

The Huawei Honor 7 Enhanced Edition also comes with quick charging ability and includes a 9V-2A charger. So far, other specs of the phone remain the same as its predecessor.

Huawei's upgraded variant of the Honor 7 features a 5.2" multi-touch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. It is powered by an octa-core Huawei Kirin 935 processor and Mali-T628 MP4 GPU. The phone contains 3GB of RAM and a 3,100 mAh battery. Its memory is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

Camera-wise, the Huawei Honor 7 Enhanced Edition sports a 20MP camera with Sony IMX230 sensor and dual-tone LED flash at the back. At the front, it has an 8MP selfie snapper.

According to International Business Times, Huawei is gearing up to enter the US market soon. The report was based on a statement by Huawei CEO George Zhao in a second anniversary celebration of the Honor 7 in Shenzhen, China. Zhao said that Huawei will launch region-specific devices upon entering the US market.

The Honor 7 is not the only phone that Huawei updated this year. A previous report by Venture Capital Post said that Huawei launched the Enjoy 5s, an update to the Enjoy 5 smartphone. The new phone was also released in China but ran on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop instead of Marshmallow.

The Huawei Honor 7 Enhanced Edition has a price of 1,999 Yuan or approximately USD $309. It started to be available for purchase on December 12, 2015. The phone can be availed in gold color.
