"Mike and Molly" cast member Rondi Reed confirmed the cancellation of the show after Season 6 via her Facebook account while Billy Gardell announced it on his Twitter account. Melissa McCarthy admitted how heartbroken and shocked she is with the news just like what the fans have felt about the network's decision.

Series actress Rondi Reed (as Peggy) confirmed via her Facebook account that "Mike and Molly" Season 6 will be the last to air on TV. Reed stated, "Before you hear it elsewhere this is the final and 6th season of Mike and Molly on CBS... It is also a shortened season (13 episodes) after the announced full renewal of 22 episodes back in March by the network.

We are done taping as of January 27, 2016, and I am not sure exactly when/ if the episodes will be aired. The network has its reasons, and I will not get into a debate, discussion or campaign to get them to change their minds. I remained extremely grateful to have been a part of this and to have worked with a fabulous bunch of folks over the years." as noted on Carter Matt.

On the other hand, lead actor Billy Gardell confirmed the cancellation news via his Twitter page as reported on Hollywood Life. Gardell tweeted the show's official scheduled launch and broke the news that it will be the last 13 episodes of "Mike and Molly" on television.

With that being said, a lot of fans are unhappy about the network's firm decision of cancelling the show. According to IB Times, "Mike and Molly" star Melissa McCarthy also shared the same sentiment about how hearbroken and shocked she was via her Twitter account. The outlet also mentioned that it still remains unclear until now on why CBS decided to end the show.

"Mike and Molly" Season 6 is set to premiere on January 6, 2016 exclusively on CBS. "Mike and Molly" is an American situational comedy created by Mark Roberts.
