With news of the impending release of the iPhone 6, its predecessor recently posted a figure which declared the winner of the Samsung vs Apple sales war last month.
Samsung reported that it has shipped a total of 20 million units of their much buzzed about Galaxy S4 smartphone. However, Apple's iPhone 5 sold the same amount in only half the time it took Samsung to ship their merchandise.
Brian Marshall, an analyst from ISI Group, estimated that Apple hit the 20 million mark only in 25 days. Samsung reached that mark more than a month later.
Furthermore, less than a month after the iPhone was released, an average of 805,000 iPhone 5 units was shipped each day. Samsung shipped only 333,000 daily.
Shares of Apple are still listed as 'a strong buy' by ISI Group at a price target of US$600. ISI Group, an investment company, said that several other devices and gadgets will be released in about nine months. The firm said that investors should look into the company's plans of releasing a new high-end iPhone, a budget iPhone, and possibly an iPhone with a 5-inch monitor display.
