Apple iPad Air 3 to exclude 3D Touch; Early 2016 launch seen possible

Apple is speculated to launch another tablet early next year with iPad Air 3. However, according to one trusted analyst, the new device might be released without the 3D Touch, which was highlighted in iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

AS reported by Latin Post, KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently noted that the 3D touch might not be included in the features of the iPad Air 3. The reason cited some production issues and that supply chain capacity utilization is lower than its peak.

The iPad Air 3 is rumored to be released early in 2016. But as reported by The Inquirer, the iPhone 7 which could be the next flagship device from Apple. The new handset is rumored to feature the 3D Touch feature during its release in September or during fall since the issues encountered in the production could be fixed by then.

As reported by Mac Rumors, the 3D Touch has "peek" and "pop" gestures that allow access to Quick Action menus or preview documents. It also allows users to switch to Multitasking view, and delete and mark as unread mails when using the "peek" feature.

The iPad Air 3 is speculated to be introduced during Apple's event in March where the Apple Watch 2 and iPhone 6C are expected to also be unveiled. However, if not in the March event, the device could also be launched during the annual Worldwide Developer Conference in June where the next version of the iOS and OS X could be unveiled.

Details about the iPad Air 3's specs are currently unknown although it is rumored to be a 9.7-inch tablet and could feature a thinner but more robust built. It is also rumored to feature A9X processor, and 13MP camera sensor. More official details about the new tablet are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
