Apple is reportedly developing a new scalable 3D Touch feature. The Cupertino-based tech giant is allegedly working on this technology that functions on bigger displays, like that of the iPad.
Apparently, this pressure-sensing display technology might not be available for the next-generation iPhones and iPads, as reported by Tech Times. Apple has already included the 3D Touch feature to its recently released iPhone 6s and 6s Plus smartphones. However, this new technology that the company is gearing up is completely innovative and provides users a whole different way to interact with their iPhones.
It would be a great idea to incorporate the scalable 3D Touch feature to larger displays, but some rumors claim that Apple cannot integrate it to its iPads. Even if this technology has been successfully included in the latest iPhones, the tech giant will have hard time integrating it to its iPads because of scalability and other technological reasons.
Furthermore, there are numerous speculations surfacing online about an iPad with 3D Touch feature these days. Most Apple users and spectators are hoping that this might be true and that the company would really add it to the alleged iPhone 7 and iPad Air 3.
In the meantime, the pressure-sensing technology found in the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus lets users to choose different Quick Actions for their applications. It has distinct controls that work flawlessly with iOS 9 as well as within the application, including Peek and Pop.
On the whole, Apple wants to extend the use of the 3D Touch technology to its own devices. It is worth noting that the tech giant claims that 3D Touch is the "future of multi-touch." Hence, it is looking forward to more innovation using it in the coming months. Nevertheless, everyone should just patiently wait for its official announcement regarding the matter.
